CLUB ACTIVITIES
Homecoming Parade
Each year the club decorates a float for the Homecoming parade. This years' Homecoming theme was Rock Your Crimson and Gold! Clubs, organizations and graduating classes compete each year for the best float. In the picture to the left you are looking at the 2009 HOMECOMING FLOAT WINNER!
Horses’ Halloween
The 1st Annual Horses’ Halloween kicked off October 2008. This event is considered our biggest Fall fundraiser. By charging a small admission fee, children and families of the local community are invited to enjoy hay rides, face painting, fun games and more in the spirit of Halloween! Club members station gaming booths in various spots around the indoor and outdoor arenas as kids gather to get their face painted or compete in a donut eating contest!
Horses’ Christmas
Horses Christmas is an annual Christmas parade that Equestrian Team and Club members put on for the public. Local Elementary schools, various handicapped programs and Elderly Institutions, as well as the public at large, are invited to celebrate the coming of Christmas while incorporating a love and dedication for horses. The club decorates the entire indoor riding arena in the finest Christmas decor and dress themselves and 15 horses in Christmas themed costumes. The parade is a non-profit charity event and in lieu of an admission fee, club members ask for generous donations of canned goods to be donated to a local food bank. All are welcome and any donations are greatly appreciated!
CLUB DINNERS
Throughout the semester, team and club memebers gather for dinner. Sometimes we gather at the Equestrian Center or find a convenient spot on campus. We see it as a way to spend additional time together in an effort to reinforce our cohesiveness. Generally, the time provides us with an opportunity to converse and engage with one another on a less formal and more personal basis. Everyone contributes by providing a dish or appetizer and engage in conversation in a relaxed setting.
